i've been running biodiesel for awhile and would like to get a wvo system -or i think i do. live in an apartment and have no room to make a dio-lab. does anyone in the dallas area run wvo and what system are you using? all the system kits seem over priced and for colder climates. i'm sure my trunk on a 300d is at least 90 degrees half the year.
someone please help andy

To my knowledge there is only one person I know that is running or also wanting to run SVO (strait veggie oil) in the DFW area. I know one of the fellas in the Austin group setup his VW rabbit to run on it and built the system himself. Maybe you can check out their forums to see if they have a HOW-TO or DIY (Do it Yourself) SVO section. Here's the link (sorry it took so long, I was distracted) biotexasdfw.proboards78.com/

Frontwheels, I agree that most systems are overkill for Texas. I have been researching this for two months and don't have a source, a vehicle or fuel yet. What I do have is a bunch of great info. Tessa lives in Mansfield and I highly recommend a stopping by to see her. She bought a 300d wagon that had the griesel conversion in place. I saw her car on Craigs list. Traveled 200+ miles round trip and it was not the car I wanted. It WAS not a wasted trip. One look at this functioning system and it was like a 100cc injection of confidence. It is not complex and it was awesome to see a functional system. I can put you in touch with her as I no longer see the car listed. Here is a cool link. pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/cmwetzel726/album?.dir=/cef8scd&.src=ph&.tok=phqffCFBPiGsZ8olI talked to Chris for over an hour last night. He is in Chicago. His dad is coming to Austin (from Ill.) next week in the SVO car in the photos. I would be interested in helping with the conversion. I live between DFW and Austin and have a small garage at the house.

In mid December (2006) put a Golden Fuel Systems kit on my 2001 Ford Excursion. I had been running home-brew bio-d but wanted to be able to run SVO; now can do either. The Golden Fuel Systems kit uses the original 44 gallon Ex tank for SVO and adds a 20 gallon tank for diesel/bio-diesel. I have only run about 30 gallons of SVO so far - it takes a trip of 15-20 miles to switch over and purge so will only be using the SVO for longer trips.
