Ok, I have 50lbs of KOH. I think I should have gotten NoAH. Does anybody know the difference in the amount you have to use? Should I take back the KOH and use NoAH instead? R.Vinson uses NoAH. I am trying to copy his system perfectly.

There is no need to return the KOH. It is a better catalyst than NaOH. It disolves in methanol a lot easier than NaOH, it is more forgiving than NaOH, and in cold weather you will not end up with solid glycering in your reactor. You use a little more per batch, but it is worth it. Use this spreasheet to figure out how much you will need per batch.

Plus if you ever run into high titration oil the NaOH will not work, but the KOH will. (high being 6+)
