Where to get one of those 40 gal cone bottom tanks? Lowest I've found is $100 shipping not included. I was hoping to find a used one somewhere. I just hate to clean out the bottom of my current wash tank.

What do you need one for? A water heater or a drum will work as a reactor.

I need one for washing. I hate to drain out most of the BD then have to clean out the bottom. With a cone bottom I can easily drain all the crud out.

I'd like to have one just to get all the water out easier, especially one I can see the water level through.

I need one for washing. I hate to drain out most of the BD then have to clean out the bottom. With a cone bottom I can easily drain all the crud out. I just use a white HDPE drum with the stand pipe for washing. After 4-5 washes the water comes out crystal clear. Leaving 2-4 inches of water and bio at the bottom of the wash tank, has never been a problem. I just add my next batch of biodiesel on top of that and wash 4-5 times again. For about $25 for the drum and parts, I passed on the cone bottom tank idea. Now, if I wanted to use Magnesol to wash my bio, a cone bottom tank would be a must have.

The problem is I dry it with the same tank. I guess I need to make a drying tank.

Check these pictures, that is how I made my wash tank with the stand pipe and here you can find the pictures of my drying tank. I also found that if you are not in a hurry, a drying tank is not necessary. I once left bio settling in my wash tank for days, because my storage tank and drying tank where both full. After a week, the bio turned crystal clear on its own without having to go through the drying process.

if I remember correctly I've found a plastic 60 gallon cone bottom for $110, but the 100 gallon was $150. You could make two batches and wash them at the same time. I'll see if I can't find the link if anyone's interested.
