So today I go on my first real hard core oil search.. My failure is remarkable. My thought process is simple, I figure if I drive behind the resurant and look for a commercial oil dumpster and don't see one, I might have a fighting chance. It seems that the processing companies have flower mound pretty well locked in. I talked to the manager of the local sonic and he said I could have some oil, however once I looked at it, I almost puked, it was almost white or sorta yellow. I think it had grease, water, puke, diareaha and some other gooo in it...
Now I am depresed..

w5gm, Don't give up hope! This oil gathering thing is pretty much a pain, but it is do-able. There is a renderer that has barrels at almost every establishment in my area. After talking to some of them he has not been paying like he said he would. I was able to put barrels at five of them so far. Trouble is, sometimes the hired help still puts the oil in his barrel instead of mine. Also let your friends know what you are doing. My sister-in-law can about 5 gal a week from a little quik-stop that normally just throws it in the dumpster. Also the wife of a co-worker gets about 20-30 gal a month from a school. So far I'm still not keeping up with the rural mail carrier wife's need for bio-D but I'm getting there. HTH, Clint

Hopefully, after the Dec. 2nd meeting this will be a thing of the past...
I'm going to try to get 5,000 to 10,000 gallons of WVO storage (still working out the details, but I have the location already), so that I might possibly get a 2000 - 3000 gallon per month contract. If everything goes as planned, anyone in the area whom wants some WVO, need only to contact me and I should have all you could need in one location. Depending on how much notice you give me (and some other details), it can come filtered down to 1 micron, dewatered, and titrated. All you have to do is mix the methoxide and react it.
